2021 Howick FRAMA 5600 3.5'' Profile Steel Framing Machine

The Howick FRAMA 5600 is a dedicated frame and truss production machine built around Howick's proven end-bearing stud detail, purpose-designed for load-bearing frame manufacturing. This 2021 unit is configured specifically for 3.5" profile production, making it a strong fit for shops standardizing on a single stud width for high-volume residential and light commercial framing.

The FRAMA 5600 handles material from 20 to 16 gauge (0.95mm to 1.55mm), giving it real capacity for heavier, load-bearing sections beyond typical light-gauge partition work. With 9 forming stages and a full standard tooling package — including truss end tool, service hole, web hole, bolt hole, lip notch, web notch, lip roller, dimple, swage, and end-bearing cut-off — the machine produces fully processed, ready-to-assemble components. Parts are dimpled and notched so frames self-clip together, eliminating the need for clamping, drilling, or a jig.

Production speeds run 1,312–2,620 ft/hr depending on component complexity, with a line speed of 98 ft/min. The machine is computer-controlled via a Windows 10 touchscreen panel PC running FRAMA Machine Control software, with CSV file input. A 3.0-ton decoiler (6,600 lb capacity) is included, with hydraulic 3-jaw self-centering expansion and auto-pause at coil end.

With a compact footprint of 11.2' x 2.5' x 4.6' and a weight of 5,300 lb, the FRAMA 5600 is built to maximize production efficiency without demanding excessive floor space.
